Selectmen approve highway repairs and accept safety grant

NH CAMPTON — Campton Selectmen approve roughly $17,500 in highway infrastructure work, accept $13,500 state safety grant. The Board authorized $7,888.95 for a Mespelli Road culvert replacement off Quimby Road and accepted a $9,600 bid from Horne Electrical for a Highway garage standby generator; Selectman Donahue recused himself from the generator vote due to a contractor connection. Police Chief Foss presented the NH Highway Safety Grant, which funds overtime patrols focused on speed, DUI, and distracted driving enforcement.
The town has received this grant for almost two decades. Vice Chair Donahue was authorized to sign the grant agreement. The Board also voted to donate Fire Engine 4 to the Town of Easton for $1.
