Selectmen vote on warrant articles as residents question budget increases

NH CAMPTON — Campton Selectmen hold public hearing on the budget and warrant articles. Board members Sharon Davis, Mort Donahue, Sherrill Howard, and Karl Kelly addressed resident questions about a 4.2 percent wage increase (2.7 percent cost-of-living adjustment and 1.5 percent step increases), higher legal fees attributed to lawsuits and Right-to-Know requests, and additional responsibilities for the Planning and Zoning Coordinator. The Board unanimously approved a request for proposals for road reconstruction on Orchard Street and Goose Hollow Road.
Warrant Articles 8, 9, and 10 received no affirmative votes; Article 12 passed 3-1; Articles 11 and 13-20 passed unanimously.
