Conservation Commission Schedules Knotweed Treatment for Summer

NH CAMPTON — Conservation Commission schedules Japanese knotweed treatment for Lower Beech Hill and other town properties. Chair Jess Halm and the commission approved reimbursements totaling $193.89 for conference attendance and knotweed project mailing costs, with state certified applicator Hunterr Payeur of New England Forestry Consultants set to begin cutting work in late June and return for spraying in late summer. The Conservation Fund balance stands at $33,919.51 with a CD maturing at 3.35 percent.
Treatment on one private parcel was postponed due to ongoing property owner disputes with the state Department of Transportation over a culvert installation issue.
